Pay by cash

You can pay with cash at all of our car parks in Ambleside, but please note that the machines do not give change.

The machines will accept the following coins: 5 pence, 10 pence, 20 pence, 50 pence, £1 and £2. The old £1 will not be accepted.

Pay by card

You can pay with Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards, as well as contactless card payments at all car parks, except for Miller Bridge. Apple Pay cannot be used at the machines.

On-street disc zone parking

Cumbria County Council operate a disc parking scheme with free short stay parking in Ambleside. You will need to display a disc clock on your dashboard clearly indicating your arrival time. Cumbria County Council on-street parking provides further details about the disc parking scheme and where you can obtain a disc clock.
