Coaches and motorcycle parking
Free parking for coaches is available at Low Fold (1 space) and at Rothay Holme, LA22 0HQ. This car park will be closed to the public every Tuesday and Wednesday until further notice to allow the Mobile Covid Testing facility to operate.
Paying for parking
Pay by cash
You can pay with cash at all of our car parks in Ambleside, but please note that the machines do not give change.
The machines will accept the following coins: 5 pence, 10 pence, 20 pence, 50 pence, £1 and £2. The old £1 will not be accepted.
Pay by card
You can pay with Visa and Mastercard debit or credit cards, as well as contactless card payments at all car parks, except for Miller Bridge. Apple Pay cannot be used at the machines.

On-street disc zone parking
Cumbria County Council operate a disc parking scheme with free short stay parking in Ambleside. You will need to display a disc clock on your dashboard clearly indicating your arrival time.
