Financial thresholds

Any purchase made on behalf of the Council must comply with the Contract Procedure Rules, in accordance with our constitution. The value of the procurement determines the minimum process that is carried out:

Up to £10,000

Minimum of three written quotations to be obtained. Officers are encouraged to advertise opportunities of this value on the Chest and the SLDC website.

£10,001 to £100,000

Opportunities of this value must be advertised on the Chest and the SLDC website.

£100,001 to £164,176

A Formal Invitation to Tender. Opportunities of this value must be advertised on the Chest and the SLDC website. 

£164,176 and above

Procurements of this value must comply with EU Directives.
