The tell us once service will help to reduce the amount of time you need to spend contacting government departments and organisations after someone has died.
When someone has died, you must register the death. When a death is registered, the registrar will give you a unique reference number.
Once that’s done, several other organisations may have to be contacted and given the same information. You can use our Tell us Once service to pass on the details which will save you having to notify all the separate agencies.
