The tell us once service will help to reduce the amount of time you need to spend contacting government departments and organisations after someone has died.

When someone has died, their death needs to be registered with the registrar. Once that’s done, several other organisations may have to be contacted and given the same information.

When a death is registered, the registrar will issue a unique reference number.  

You can then either telephone the SLDC Customer Contact Centre on 01539 733 333 or visit the SLDC offices in Kendal, Ulverston or Windermere to pass on the details which will save you having to notify all the separate agencies.
