Cumbria County Council area support team
The team works closely with local people enabling them to shape the services the Council provides in order to address local needs and priorities. Working alongside partners including the local councils, community and voluntary groups to ensure that all sectors of the community are fully and effectively informed and involved.
The Area Support team use a variety of techniques and tools to ensure effective and inclusive community participation including;
- Developing tailor-made engagement activities for our partners and other organisations to address local issues and concerns
- Using local knowledge and expertise to determine the most appropriate method of community engagement through providing specialist advice and activity
- Identifying local needs and wishes through a variety of consultation methods ensuring everyone has a voice
- Arranging meetings to bring individuals, groups, departments and organisations together including public meetings such as Neighbourhood Forums to tackle local issues.
The Area Support Team also support local people and community groups through providing support and guidance on funding opportunities and advice on tackling local issues
