The Chairman of the council is Councillor Eric Morrell.
Councillor Stephen Coleman is the Vice-Chairman of the council.
Guidance for organisers of events
The Chairman will be pleased to consider invitations to attend events such as official openings or social functions. Should you wish to invite the Chairman to your event, please read the following guidance notes. Attendance of the Chairman at Functions
To ensure that proper arrangements are made for the Chairman's attendance, organisers are asked to take careful note of the following.
Please ensure that the Chairman is met on arrival and looked after appropriately during the visit.
The Chairman is the civic head of the district and should be addressed as the Chairman or Madame Chairman as appropriate.
Invitations to the Chairman
Invitations are dealt with in the order they are received. As engagements are often offered many months in advance, it is best to make your request as soon as possible, but at least 14 days in advance.
It should be noted that the Chairman may not be able to accept invitations without sufficient notice.
How to send an invitation to the Chairman
To invite the Chairman to attend your event, you should either telephone 01539 793 441 or email email@example.com to make an initial enquiry.
However, you will be asked to complete the Function Form (DOC/20KB/2 pages) . Your invitation will then be forwarded to the Chairman.
