Polling District and Polling Places Review 2019
Background on the review
Each local authority must carry out reviews of the polling districts and polling places in its area.
The next compulsory review is due to take place between 1 October 2018 and 31 January 2020 (in accordance with The Representation of the People Act 1983).
A council’s area is divided into polling districts. One or more polling districts can make up a district ward. Polling districts in South Lakeland follow parish boundaries or boundaries of parish wards.
A polling place is an area or building within a polling district in which a polling station is situated. We are reviewing arrangements for two areas where the designated polling station is no longer available for use. Where possible people making representations should suggest alternative places that may be used as polling places.
