How we will carry out consultation during the review

We must have regard to any local residents' associations, community forums or area committees (or other such community representation or engagement) that exist and make a distinct contribution to the community of the area.

Before we make any recommendations or publish our final proposals, we'll take into the account the views of local people and will comply with statutory consultative requirements by:

  • consulting local government electors in the parish
  • consulting any other person or body (including other relevant local authorities and parish councils) which appear to us, to have an interest in the review
  • taking into account any representations we receive in connection to the review
  • publishing all the decisions we've made, and our reasons for doing so

We'll publish information about each stage of the review on our website, and will make key documents available at South Lakeland House in Kendal, and the Coronation Hall in Ulverston. We'll publish press releases or adverts where appropriate and have a service to allow you to make comments online, as well as in writing.
