Any by-elections called before 6 May 2021 will not be held according to the usual timetable. They will be postponed due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and will take place on 6 May 2021. However, this date may be brought forward or deferred by the Government depending upon the circumstances.

Postponed elections

Police and Crime Commissioner, South Lakeland District Council, and some parish council elections were due to take place on Thursday 7 May 2020. These have been postponed due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and are now scheduled to take place on Thursday 6 May 2021.

Councillors who would have been up for election have had their term of office extended for one year.
