Tour of Britain's return edges closer
5 September 2018
There are only two days to go until some of the world’s top cyclists bring the Tour of Britain back to South Lakeland.
The sixth stage of this year’s tour starts on Friday 7 September in Barrow and passes through Ulverston, Gawthwaite, Water Yeat, Torver, Coniston, Hawkshead Hill, Outgate, Ambleside, Rydal and Grasmere.
Road closures will be in force across Cumbria on Friday to accommodate the safe passage of cyclists.
It is anticipated that due to road closures in Ulverston, coupled with roadworks in the area, there may be some low level disruption to residents’ waste collections in and around the town on the day.
This means collections could be made earlier than normal, please ensure your waste or recycling is presented before 7am on Friday.
