Parking service recognised in national awards
23 July 2019
We have been highly commended for best practice in finance and statistics reporting at the PATROL PARC (Parking Annual Report Awards by Councils) Awards.
The annual awards ceremony - held at the House of Commons last week - recognises excellence in report writing by local authorities parking services, as part of their civil parking and traffic enforcement activities.
The category of finance and statistics acknowledges high-quality in the transparency of reports and the presentation of statistics in a visually pleasing way.
Chair of PATROL, Councillor Stuart Hughes of Devon County Council, said: “Those authorities highly commended for reporting made great strides in presenting reports that inform and engage, with a rich variety of content that goes far beyond the basic requirements of reporting on facts and figures.”
Pat Knowles, our parking appeals officer, received the award on behalf of ourselves from Huw Merriman, MP for Bexhill and Battle and the host of this year’s event.
Our Economy, Culture and Leisure Portfolio Holder, Cllr Ashcroft, commented: “Over recent years the council has sought to improve its parking offer, striving to be more flexible and transparent when dealing with users and also the information it publicises.
“This award is recognition of the hard work from the whole parking services team at SLDC.”
The PATROL PARC Awards were first launched in 2009 and designed to promote best practice from its local authority members in the effective communication of traffic management objectives that underpin civil enforcement.
