Free parking in run-up to Christmas
South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) is reminding shoppers about free car parking on its pay and display car parks and the Westmorland Shopping Centre Car Park this Sunday – and after 4pm on late-night shopping days in towns across the district in the run-up to Christmas.
The Sunday offer applies to all pay and display car parks operated by SLDC in the district, including the Westmorland Shopping Centre Car Park in Kendal, with the specific exceptions of the Brewery Arts Centre pay and display car park in Kendal and Miller Bridge car park at Ambleside.
No contract permit-holder only car parks are included in the offer.
Meanwhile, car parks operated by South Lakeland District Council (SLDC) will be free of charge after 4pm on late-night shopping days in towns across the district in the run-up to Christmas.
It means that all SLDC-operated ‘open air’ car parks will be free to use from 4pm to coincide with the Thursday late-night shopping on 17 December in towns including Kendal, Ulverston and Windermere, while the offer applies to the Friday late-night shopping in Kirkby Lonsdale on 18 December.
The offer applies to pay and display car parks operated by SLDC, with the specific exceptions of the Westmorland Shopping Centre multi-storey, the Brewery Arts Centre car park and Miller Bridge car park at Ambleside.
The offer does apply to the parish church car park in Kendal.
