Business owners asked to complete survey
1 November 2018
Business owners are being invited to complete an annual survey to help shape our business support strategies and to inform local plans and policies.
The South Lakeland Business Premises Survey for 2018 is being undertaken by our Invest in South Lakeland economic development team to provide an up-to-date local assessment of local business needs over the next 12 months.
Previous surveys have given us a good insight into future land and premises needs, and provided the team with information on which businesses may need additional support to help achieve growth.
The surveys also reveal useful information about businesses which are expanding, downsizing or making premises available.
Councillor Graham Vincent, Portfolio Holder for Economy, said: “This survey is a vital tool for our Invest in South Lakeland team to use to help inform future strategy decisions and policy making around business needs in South Lakeland.
“By undertaking the survey on an annual basis, we can stay up-to-date with the needs of South Lakeland businesses and develop a solid understanding of the commercial land and premises requirements. This helps us to focus on ensuring the correct type of land is identified and available.
“The views and opinions of the business community are very important to us and we hope as many business owners as possible will take the time to complete the survey.’’
The survey runs from 1 November until the deadline of 20 December.
The Business Premises Survey is being posted out to all South Lakeland businesses on our business rates database.
Anyone who is running a small business from home, and not currently paying business rates, is also welcome to take part.
Please visit www.investinsouthlakeland.co.uk/survey to complete the short survey online. Alternatively business owners can return the survey by post or email.
