Big boost for Caroline's small business

16 November 2017

A former television producer has become the latest entrepreneur to set up business in a thriving enterprise centre.

The MintWorks in Kendal is now credited with directly and indirectly helping more than 200 small businesses to start up and expand since it opened in 2015.

Caroline Page, who has launched her new PR firm called Chilli Communication, says the town centre office space is perfect and she is excited about becoming a tenant.

“I’m particularly grateful to South Lakeland District Council and the MintWorks team for the fantastic support they provide for a start-up business like mine. We’ve got off to a great start, so I’m looking to start recruiting others to join the Chilli team from early 2018,” she said.

The MintWorks initiative is led by Invest in South Lakeland, our economic development team which supports inward investment and economic growth.

The enterprise centre, which is currently occupied by 10 businesses, also offers room hire for meetings and conferences and hot-desking for local and regional firms to use on a flexible and competitive basis.

The success of The MintWorks model has prompted the launch of similar business centre ventures across South Lakeland.
