Finding a property
We are continually working with Developers to bring new property developments to the market. All affordable housing developments are advertised for sale as any other property; in local newspapers, Estate Agents and online property search sites such as; Rightmove and Zoopla. The advert must state that it is an 'affordable home' or has Section 106 conditions attached.
Most Developers are happy for you to contact them to register your interest in a scheme development, they can provide you with updates on when the properties are likely to be ready.
You do not have to wait for a new development to be built in order to purchase an affordable home. Existing affordable homeowners may wish to sell their home. These properties will usually be advertised for sale in the same way as any other property; in local newspapers, Estate Agents and online property search sites such as; Rightmove and Zoopla. The advert will state that it is an 'Affordable home' or has section 106 conditions attached. You can ask the homeowner for details of the Section 106 Agreement containing the terms and conditions for purchasers.
Registered Providers of Housing (also known as Housing Associations) and Developers work together to bring Shared Ownership and Shared Equity properties to the market. These properties can be found on the Help to buy North West property search
If you are looking for this type of property, it is worth contacting the Housing Associations directly. However, they can also be marketed through local newspapers, estate agencies and online property search sites such as; Rightmove and Zoopla. The advert will state that it is Shared Ownership and which Housing Association to contact for more details.
