Arrange a bulky waste collection in the South Lakeland area

Find out how you can arrange for your bulky waste to be collected if you live in the South Lakeland area.

Arrange a bulky waste collection

You cannot select a collection day when you apply. This is a chargeable service in which Right2Work will only contact you to arrange the collection after payment has been made as part of the application process.

You'll also need to pay when you book your collection. This can be done by credit or debit card.

Arrange a bulky waste collection

If your items are reusable, you should consider donating or selling them. Find out where you can donate your items.

How much it costs

A single collection, of up to three items, costs £36. Extra items cost £9.24 per item, up to a maximum of ten items. For example:

  • a mattress would count as one item and cost £36
  • a mattress, a bed and a sofa would count as three items, and still cost £36
  • a mattress, a bed, a chair and a sofa would count as four items and cost £45.24
  • ten items would be £100.68

The fee paid for collection is passed, in full, to Right2Work and covers the cost of collection and the work to recycle, re-use or dispose of the items collected.

Who collects your bulky waste items

We partner with the organisation Right2Work to make the collections.

The collectors will provide proof of identification. You should not allow any persons to enter your home or collect your items unless you are sure of their identity. If you have any doubt about the identification of the collectors you should contact us.

What happens to your items

This is not a removal service, around two-thirds of the waste that's collected is reused or recycled. Right2work has opened an online store where you can buy refurbished furniture.
