The Cumbria A to Z

The Cumbria A to Z is a joint project between Cumbrian councils to develop a single A to Z covering all public sector services in the county. It also includes a large number of national public sector and regional voluntary services.

The A to Z is available for download in XML format

The main bodies covered are:

• Cumbrian local government
• NHS
• Police
• Fire and Rescue services
• Lake District National Park
• Coastguard
• Chamber of Commerce
• Central government services such as DirectGov

Although in its early stages the project is already seeing clear benefits:

• a consistent A to Z for councils across the county to use,
• an automated upload for LocalDirectGov, reducing the amount of time spent on ensuring our services are synchronised with them
• a public XML feed for public re-use
