Traffic Management Act 2004
The Secretary of State has agreed that Authorities must issue
two different levels of penalty charges to reflect
the seriousness of a contravention. There has been a
perceived unfairness of receiving the same penalty regardless of
the seriousness of the contravention. Therefore, in order to
emphasise the traffic management purposes of Civil Parking
Enforcement the following amounts are to be paid across Cumbria
under a Penalty Charge Notice with effect from 31 March 2008.
The Penalty Charge levels refer to breaches of on and off
street parking restrictions.
