Car Parks
South Lakeland District Council operates over
40 'Pay and Display' car parks throughout the area, with some
5,300 spaces.
The Westmorland Shopping Centre Car Park, Kendal is a
Pay-on-Exit system. Please check
for
opening and closing
times.
South Lakeland House Car Park, Kendal is opened at 6.30am and
is closed at 8.00pm. The public cannot use Level 3 (open air
level) Monday to Friday.
You can also
pay-by-phone at
most car parks in the district.
The car parks comprise of long stay, short stay and
multi-tariff facilities depending on the particular location.
Civil Enforcement Officers patrol these car parks on a regular
basis so please ensure that your ticket is properly displayed and
the correct tariff has been paid for the duration of
stay.
If you are not certain of the length of your stay it always
advisable to allow a reasonable margin of safety as visits
invariably last longer than first anticipated. We want you to
enjoy your stay with us and hope that you will return soon, so
please don't risk a getting a ticket! Please ensure that you
have an assortment of change for the machine.
New Car Park Machines
New machines have been placed in most car parks operated by
South Lakeland District Council. They offer different payment
methods - you can now pay by cash, credit/debit card or 'wave
and pay'.
3-day and 7-day Parking Passes - new
It is now possible to purchase a 3-day pass for £15.00 and a
7-day pass for £30.00 from the pay-and-display machines by
credit/debit card, cash and pay-by-phone. Please see here for eligible car
