Ambleside Disc Parking
On 22 September 2003 Cumbria County Council introduced a
Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) within the boundaries of Ambleside
Town Centre.
The CPZ includes limited waiting time restrictions that apply
to the parking spaces located in the various streets within the
Town. The operational time for the CPZ is 10am to 6pm.
The Waiting Time Restrictions are Controlled
by Parking Discs
Parking discs are available free of charge from local shops
and businesses within the Town.
The parking discs are re-usable, so please retain for further
use. The arrival time must be set on the parking disc
and be displayed clearly on the dashboard of the
vehicle.
The length of time that you are allowed to park is restricted
to the time limit displayed on the traffic signs next to the
parking spaces.
The idea
behind the use of parking discs is to encourage a quick turnover of
spaces giving the public a better opportunity of finding
a parking space.
The waiting time and other parking restrictions are enforced by
South Lakeland District Council Civil Enforcement Officers.
The Civil Enforcement Officers may issue Penalty Charge
Notices to those vehicles not displaying parking discs
correctly and therefore contravening the parking restrictions
that are in place.
