Parking in South Lakeland
The Council's car parks cater for a variety of users including
commuters, shoppers, visitors and tourists.
Parking restrictions throughout South Lakeland are intended to
improve road safety and reduce congestion within the popular towns
and villages. They have been designed to help facilitate the
needs of the public and to assist in enabling traffic to move
freely around this
beautiful part of the country.
- Ensure you are within the time limits of your pay and display
ticket.
- When using a car park please ensure that you are parked within
the bays.
- Do not park in residents' bays unless you have the required
permit.
- Display your pay and display ticket correctly.
- If you are the holder of a Blue Badge make sure it is displayed
correctly, with the serial number and expiry date visible, whether
on the road or in a car park. If not you may be liable for a
penalty charge notice. In timed disabled bays and on single
or double yellow lines, you must also display a clock, set to time
of arrival.
- Do not park in a bay for the disabled unless you have a
Blue Badge and it is displayed correctly
Please consider alternative modes of transport and
check out public transport. The area offers some of
the best scenery and walking terrain in the Country and provides an
opportunity to give your car a rest.
