Grants for Landlords
Where dwellings are being provided
Grants are available in certain situations to
landlords for converting commercial or empty property into
residential dwellings to provide dwellings for local persons at
affordable rents. For example grants are available for
converting empty space over shops and offices into residential
dwellings.
The landlord will be expected to enter into an agreement with the
Council to accept our nominated tenants.
For example for dwellings where there will be nomination rights
over a five year period, a grant of up to 80% of the cost of the
work may be available, up to a maximum of £30,000.
