Good Practice
The South Lakes Multi Cultural Forum was formed in 2005 and
includes a number of voluntary and statutory agencies and is
looking to recruit individuals from different communities.
The Forum meets six weekly to share and discuss issues brought
up by the Black and Minority Ethnic people at our various agencies
throughout the area to achieve better outcomes.
The Forum works closely with Cumbria Multi Cultural Centre in
Barrow in Furness, an organisation that deals specifically with
addressing the issues of Black and Minority Ethnic individuals
across Cumbria.
If you have any issues you need
help with you can contact the Centre on Tel: 01229 894401.
As the Housing Equality and Diversity Strategy is implemented
there is likely to be further examples of good practice that will
be available in this Section.
