How do I report an empty home to the council?

If you know of any property which has been unoccupied for over 6 months, please let us know. An address is always really useful too. You can either ring the Empty Homes Officer on 01539 717219, email mailto:Empty.Homes@southlakeland.gov.ukor complete our Report an Empty Home form (save to your folder, then email back to the above email address) or post to the Empty Homes Officer, SLDC, South Lakeland House, Lowther Street, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 4DL. 

We will check council tax records to confirm that this is an empty property and write to the owner asking what steps they are taking to re-use the property and to offer support.  You could help your neighbours and the community by letting us know this information (which will be treated in confidence).
