Using Your Bins and Boxes
Use the bins and boxes safely
- Follow the user guide printed on the side of the recycling
box.
- Bins and boxes should be moved using both hands.
Present your bins, bags or boxes at the kerbside by 7am.
- The collecton point is normally at the bounday of your property
in view of the road, although it may be at another agreed
location.
- Ensure they are not causing an obstruction.
We will sort your glass, cans and paper at the kerbside.
- Please rinse bottles and cans before putting them in the blue
box.
- Please do not put bottles inside cans.
- Please do not use the green bin or recycling boxes for
materials not included in our guidelines this may result in the bin
or box not being emptied.
- After collection the lid will be left in the box to show it has
been emptied.
Remember to retrieve your bins and boxes after emptying.
- Bins and boxes can be cleaned using warm, soapy water.
- Wrapping your waste can help keep your grey bin clean.
- We will not return for grey bins or waste bags that were not
presented for collection.

Newspapers, magazines, junk mil, leaflets, greetings cards,
white office paper, brochures, soft-back catalogues, telephone
directories, envelopes. |
| Blue box for glass and cans |
Glass bottles and jars, steel and aluminium cans, food cans,
drink cans, pet food cans, clean aluminium foil. |
| Green bin for green garden waste |
Grass clippings, weeds, shrub prunings, flowers, plants, fallen
leaves, branches up to finger width, small Christmas trees. |
| Grey bin for landfill waste |
Drink cartons, food waste, light bulbs, jar and bottle
tops, dog or cat litter, nappies and other waste that cannot be
recycled. |
