What Happens to the Materials We Collect
There are seven main types of waste that
are recycled in South Lakeland; cans, cardboard,
clothing, garden waste, glass, paper and plastic. We have
produced an information leaflet about the ways in which these
materials are processed, which can be downloaded below.
There are a large number of charity shops around South
Lakeland that accept clothing and other goods that are suitable for
re-sale. There are also charity banks at many of our
Recycling Centres, please use their websites to access more
information about their recycling activities.
Oxfam collect books, CDs, DVDs and
video tapes.
Scope collect clothing and
shoes.
