Landfill Sites
All the waste you do not recycle is sent to landfill sites
like this one. The waste collected in South Lakeland is sent to
landfill sites in Barrow and Lancashire.
Light bulbs
Use energy efficient light bulbs that last longer and use less
electricity. Light bulbs cannot be recycled and should be wrapped
in newspaper before being disposed of with your household waste.
However if disposing of a fluorescent tube you should take it
to your local
Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Litter
Litter is unsightly and a spoils the environment. Please use
litter bins or take your litter home.
