Aerosols
Where possible try to buy pump sprays rather than aerosols.
Plastic pump spray bottles can be recycled at the plastic banks in
South Lakeland, but aerosols cannot currently be recycled.
Please dispose of aerosols in accordance with the manufacturers
instructions.
Air Fresheners
Many air fresheners come in either aerosol cans or small plastic
units, neither of which can currently be recycled. Why not
experiment making your own air freshener using a refillable plastic
spray bottle filled with water and a small amount of essential oil.
Retailers will usually be happy to offer advice about the types of
oil available and the best and safest way to use them.
Aluminium Foil
Some charity shops accept aluminium foil for recycling. Please
ensure foil is thoroughly washed to avoid contamination.
Asbestos
Asbestos is a hazardous material and must be disposed of in
accordance with the Special Waste Regulations 2005.
