The Recycling Process
We provide a range of waste and recycling services to
households around South Lakeland, including collections from the
kerbside and at recycling banks.
There are over 55,000 households in the district, each
generating around a tonne of waste each year. Almost half of
the waste we collect is recycled or composted.
The main materials collected for recycling in South Lakeland
are paper, glass, cans, plastic, card and green garden waste. There
are also a number of clothing banks at our Recycling Centres that
have been provided by charities.
