Bulky Waste Collections

There are four Household Waste Recycling Centres in the district, which are owned by Cumbria County Council. These can be used for the disposal of waste that will not fit into a wheelie bin.

We will collect

The Council operates a free collection service for items such as tables, chairs and beds, this service is limited to five items.  We are also able to collect fridges and freezers upon payment of a decommissioning fee. We normally collect within ten working days of receiving your call and the items should be outside your house ready to be collected.

We won't collect

We do not collect D.I.Y. materials, rubble, building materials, garden waste, kitchen units or bathroom suites etc. If you have work done at home you should ensure that proper removal and disposal of the waste materials is included in the contract.
