Core Strategy - Examination into its Soundness
SLDC submitted its Core Strategy to The Secretary of State
on 26th November 2009. In accordance with section 20 of the
Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 Inspector Philip Goodman
BA(HONS) MRTPI DMS was appointed to conduct the
examination into the soundness of the Core
Strategy Development Plan Document.
The South Lakeland Core Strategy has
now been found 'sound' by the Inspector and the council have
now received Inspector Philip Goodman's Report (which can be
viewed on the council's Core Strategy web page, see link
above).

Changes Consultation
The Preceding Examination documents (ED1 to ED53), Statements of
Common Ground and Hearing Statements are now located on a
different page called the Core Strategy EiP
- archive. Core Strategy Submission documents can be
found on the Core Strategy Page and
Evidence Base studies can be found on the Evidence Base page. This has been done so that
the most recent Examination documents are more accessible.
The Council submitted to the Inspector an addendum to the
minor edits document (ref: ED47.1). The list of new minor edits has
the reference ED47.5 and the list
incorporating the earlier minor edits and the most recent ones has
the reference ED47.6.
