Annual Monitoring Report
The District Council submitted its sixth Annual
Monitoring Report (AMR) for the emerging South Lakeland Local
Development Framework to the Secretary of State in December
2010.
The AMR is a statutory requirement of the Planning and
Compulsory Purchase Act and must be submitted by the end of
December each year. The sixth AMR covers the year 1st April
2009 to 31st March 2010.
Purpose
The AMR is important because it tells you of our progress in
creating a Local Development Framework (LDF) for South Lakeland
(outside the National Parks) to replace the current South Lakeland
Local Plan.
It also paints a picture of the 'state of the district',
drawing on the latest information on the area's social,
environmental and economic circumstances and assesses how existing
planning policies are performing. It is important that the new LDF
is based on a sound understanding of South Lakeland and has polices
that seek to improve all aspects of the quality of life for
residents and visitors.
All AMRs to date are available to view and download
below.
