Petitions Scheme
The Council operates a Scheme which enables members of the
public to become involved in the democratic process by submitting
petitions to raise awareness of concerns which are important to
them and which the Council is able to influence. Depending on
the number of signatures on a petition, they automatically trigger
further action by the Council.

E-petitions
In addition, from 15 December 2010, the Council will be able to
host petitions electonically, which will allow a petitioner to have
their petition available on the Internet for signing. We are
able to do this by using a link to an e-petitions facility shared
with Eden District Council. This is a short-term facility
pending South Lakeland District Council procuring its own
e-petitions facility. The following link will take you to the
appropriate page:-
