Suggesting a topic for review
The Overview and Scrutiny Committees each have a work programme
which is constantly monitored and updated to ensure that it
reflects the needs and concerns of local people and the District as
a whole.
Is there anything you think that the committees should
review? The committees will consider all suggestions put
forward by members of the public, the voluntary sector or
business', and where appropriate they may undertake a full review
of the issue. If the topic is not suitable for review or
there is a more appropriate body who should look at it, the
scrutiny department will contact you and let you
know.
To suggest a review please contact the
Scrutiny department.
Attending Meetings
Overview and Scrutiny Committee meetings are open to the
public, and members of the public are welcome to
attend.
By attending you can follow the progress of issues and reviews
in person. Agendas containing details of when and where the
meetings are held and the issues to be considered are placed on the
council's website a week before the meeting is due to take
place.
For details of the meeting dates and agendas for all
committees please go to
Current Committees and select the committee whose details you
wish to view.
Sometimes the committee may need to discuss confidential
information regarding a particular item on the agenda, if that is
the case the press and public will be asked to leave the room
during the discussion, but may return when the item is
concluded.
Submitting evidence to a review
The Overview and Scrutiny Committees welcome comments and
views from members of the public on any of their current
reviews. For details of these current reviews please
refer to specific committee's scrutiny page. To pass
your thoughts on to the committees and task groups please
contact the Scrutiny Department.
