Community Strategy 2008South Lakeland Strategic Partnership

South Lakeland Strategic Partnership (SLSP) brings together key public, private, voluntary and community sector organisations at a local level.  Such Partnerships are seen by the Government as a way of ensuring that local services are delivered in the most effective way for local people.  They are seen as fundamental to tackling key issues for local people such as transport, jobs, education, health and housing.  Solutions to these issues require a range of organisations working together to meet jointly agreed priorities.

The Partnership has 18 full members and co-optee members.  Mrs Mandy Dixon is the current Chair of the LSP.  The Partnership has established a number of Thematic Task Groups to deliver the Sustainable Community Strategy and these are:

1    Housing to Meet Local Need
2    Jobs, Skills & Regeneration
3    Health & Well Being
4    Accessible Service
5    A Quality Environment
6    Children & Young People
7    Community Involvement
8    Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership
