Parish Council Toolkit
The Association of Council Secretaries and Solicitors has
produced a Parish
Council Toolkit.
This is intended to be used by Parish/Town Clerks to help them
understand the powers and functions of parish councils, ensuring
effective governance, and the roles and responsibilities of Parish
Councillors.
Further information relating to parish councils, including their
individual Codes of Conduct, can be obtained from the relevant
parish clerks.
Registers
The formal Register of Parish Councillors’ Interests and
Register of Gifts and Hospitality are open for inspection by the
public at South Lakeland House, Kendal, during normal office
opening hours. These forms can be completed electronically by
parish members, and can be accessed by viewing the
Parish Declaration of Interest Forms
In addition, the Register of Dispensations granted
by SLDC's Standards Committee is available for inspection or
can be viewed by accessing the Parish
