Cumbria County Boundary Review
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE)
published its initial proposals for the Electoral Review of
Cumbria. This Review looks at the electoral divisions in
Cumbria and tries to find electoral equality, i.e. each county
councillor looking after approximately the same number of
electors.
The proposals may result in some district
wards moving to a new electoral division. The draft proposals
show the creation of a few very small town council wards in Kendal
to achieve electoral equality. Each small town council ward
would have one town councillor.
What do you think of the proposals?
These initial proposals were published on 25
October for a period of public consultation and any comments or
suggestions should be forwarded to the LGBCE (details below).
This consultation period runs from now
until 16 January 2012.
Let the Local Government Boundary
Commission for England know your views before 16
January!
