Milnthorpe Market is not operated by South Lakeland District
Council, but is within its area. It is run for the village by
Milnthorpe Parish Council. Situated 8 miles south of Kendal on the
A6, the Market Square is bordered on three sides by pretty
cottages and inviting shops. The fourth side opens out on to green
lawns and trees leading up to an imposing and very attractive
church. The market has always attracted visitors and locals,
being the only friday market in the area.
