Local Land Charges
The Authority has a statutory duty under the Local Land
Charges Act 1975 to maintain a Register of Local Land Charges
affecting land and property within the District.
The Local Land Charges section carries out Local
Authority Searches, covered by the Act, guaranteeing
comprehensive replies to forms LLC1 and CON29 enquiries.
As an Authority we are committed to providing a quality
service to the residents and businesses of the District. In

Areas Covered – a broad guide
The area administrated by South Lakeland District
Council has a complex. boundary . As a guide - to the East parishes
of Sedbergh, Garsdale & Dent (within the Yorkshire Dales
National Park); South-West to the Barrow-in-Furness boundry and
North extending to the Langdale Fell and Whinfell (in
part within the Lake District National Park); and South
including parishes of Arnside and Burton-in-Kendal.
