First Aid
The Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 are the
minimum legal standard for nearly all workplaces - in 1997 the
Health & Safety Executive produced an updated Approved Code of
Practice and Guidance for these Regulations.
The Regulations insist that employers make sure suitable first
aid equipment and facilities are available to all employees,
regardless of where those employees are based. This means that the
needs of mobile staff such as delivery drivers and homeworkers must
be taken into account. Employees working away from site must be
provided with a travelling first aid kit.
Further First Aid Legislation can be found on the HSE
website
