Food Hygiene Regulations - Guidance

On 1st January 2006 The Food Hygiene(England) Regulations 2006 introduced a requirement on all food businesses to put in place procedures which are based on the principles of Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), the Safer Food, Better Business Pack can be downloaded from www.food.gov.uk.
 
There is a legal requirement on ALL food businesses to provide appropriate documents and records showing how the HACCP principles are being applied.  We have produced Guides for both Retailers and Caterers which can be downloaded below.
 
South Lakeland District Council in partnership with 17 North West Local Authorities and The North West Food Alliance was awarded a grant of over £300,000 through the Food Standards Agency's Safer Food, Better Business programme in 2006. Since then a number of small business training events have taken place with great success.
