Grange Fell Cemetery
Grange Fell Road, Grange over Sands, Cumbria
This quiet rural cemetery is situated along Grange Fell
Road, half a mile above the town, opposite Grange Fell Golf Club,
and at the junction of the Kents Bank - Cartmel Road.
The cemetery opened in 1889 and the first interment took place
on September 30th.
Through the entrance arch, the first sections as far as the
central roundabout are designated Church of England. Past the
centre roundabout, the first sections on the top and bottom
sides of the path are non-denominational, and the last
sections are Roman Catholic.

There is also an area for the burial of cremated remains
immediately to the left of the entrance, and also on the Catholic
section. Public vehicles cannot enter the cemetery, but car
parking is possible outside the cemetery along Grange Fell Road.
There is a public WC at the rear of the cemetery entrance
building.
The cemetery is administered from Kendal where all the
cemetery records are kept. It is a comparatively large
cemetery, and intending visitors are advised to check grave
location details with the office before travelling to the
cemetery.
