Foreword
Our aim is to
provide a professional and caring service to the bereaved and their
representatives through our sympathetic and experienced staff. It
is a priority that all funerals are organised and conducted in an
orderly and dignified manner. We recognize that a competently
arranged and conducted burial is an important part of grieving, and
our staff are committed to providing a service which shows care and
consideration. Helpful comments, which may help to improve our
service, are always welcome.
Cemetery Regulations
A full list of the cemetery regulations is available in the
Cemeteries Office. The main requirements are displayed at the
cemetery entrances.
The Council does not wish to impose unnecessary or onerous
restrictions on visitors to a cemetery. Indeed, we hope that you
will appreciate its peaceful and tranquil atmosphere, and will not
find anything to cause you concern. However, for the benefit of all
visitors and grave owners we ask you to observe the following
:
- Please place litter, and any unwanted flowers etc. in the bins
provided
- Please return water containers to the nearest tap or basket
after use.
- Where vehicle access is possible, do not drive in
unnecessarily. Cars disturb the serenity and can upset other
visitors. Please park outside and walk, if you can easily do
so.
- Many areas of the cemetery contain graves without markers. Do
not let pets run free on the grass or foul the cemetery. Keep them
on a lead. !
- All cemetery memorials have the potential to become dangerous.
Do not allow children to play near, or climb on, memorials.
- Please respect the needs of other visitors by not making
unnecessary noise or disturbance.
