Core Strategy DPD
The Core Strategy Development Plan Document provides the broad
planning strategy for South Lakeland District outside the National
Parks for the period up to 2025.
The Core Strategy is a key part of the Local
Development Framework. It draws together strategies of the council
and other organisations whose activities have implications for the
development and use of land when adopted.
It puts the aspirations of the Sustainable
Community Strategy into effect - seeking to create a sustainable
district that is the best possible place to live, work and
visit.
Adoption of the Core Strategy
Development Plan Document (DPD)
On 14 October 2010, South Lakeland District
Council resolved to adopt the South Lakeland Core Strategy DPD with
effect from 20 October 2010 both as council policy and as part of
the statutory Development Plan for South Lakeland outside the Lake
District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
Some South Lakeland Local Plan policies are
superseded by the adopted Core Strategy. The remaining Local Plan
polices continue to form part of the Development Plan. You can also
view these at the council offices and libraries listed
above and on the Local Plan page from 20 October 2010.
