SLDC wants your views on car parking
6 July 2011
South Lakeland District Council wants to know
what people think about car parks and parking in the
district. From today, Wednesday 6 July SLDC is launching a
twelve-week consultation that asks residents and visitors to give
their views and opinions about car parks provided by the
council.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in
this district wide consultation should complete a questionnaire,
which covers various topics such as charging, automatic number
plate recognition, disabled parking and why people use a particular
car park. The questionnaire also asks for comments and
suggestions on how the council could improve current parking
facilities and what people would like to see in the future.
Questionnaires are available from South
Lakeland House, Kendal and Ulverston Town Hall as well as tourist
information centres and libraries across South Lakeland.
Questionnaires can also be
completed online.
Councillor Graham Vincent, portfolio
holder for Enterprise and Economy, said: “I encourage
everyone to take part in the car park consultation and let the
council know their views and opinions on car parking in the
district. We would like to provide a service that everyone is
happy with including residents and visitors, so please take the
time to complete the questionnaire and let us know what you
think.”
During August, SLDC will also be holding a
number of public consultation events in Kendal, Windermere and
Ulverston with staff and councillors in attendance. Dates and
venues are still to be confirmed but please check the council’s
website www.southlakeland.gov.uk
