Sexual Orientation
Your sexuality is a matter of privacy, however there are times
when you wish to seek advice, and support in living your
life. Confusion, guilt, isolation, fear, bullying, exclusion,
and oppression are many of the issues experienced by lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender people and their families.
As part of
our anti-discrimination policy we have produced an
Equality
& Diversity Policy.
SLDC and South Lakes Housing are
committed to ensuring that every tenant (regardless of race,
creed,gender, sexuality, or disability)
enjoys their right to
security of tenure in their own home. The Good Neighbour
Charter, and SL Anti-Social Behaviour Policy reinforce this
commitment.
Being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender should not be a
negative experience. There are a number of groups and organisations
that provide advice and support to lesbian, gay, bisexual or
transgender people or their families and friends. We hope these
links are of some use.
