If you decide it is time to start a
family, advice on pregnancy, contraception and
sexual health can be found on the website of the
Family Planning
Association.
You can also find information on
NHS Direct relating
to pre-conception and fertility advice, whilst the
National Childbirth
Trust provide detailed advice, and guidance on all aspects
of having a baby, including child development, and becoming a
dad.
Pregnancy
During pregnancy you may experience some concerns and your
midwife or GP should be able to help you with these. If more
serious problems arise you may have to contact your local hospital
immediately.
Health
If you have not done so, you will need to register with a
Doctor, GP services are provided by Cumbria NHS, use this link

Maternity services in the South Lakeland area are covered by
Helme Chase Maternity Unit, which is situated in
Kendal.
Other hospitals providing maternity services in the area are
Furness General at Barrow in Furness, and Royal Lancaster
Infirmary, Lancaster, which all form part of the
Morecambe Bay University Hospitals
