11.00am - Depart Furness Abbey.Dock Museum - Lake District Peninsulas Tourism Partership

11.15am - Arrive at the Dock Museum a spectacular modern museum built over a Victorian Graving Dock. Explore the fascinating history of Barrow-in-Furness and discover how it grew to the biggest iron and steel centre in the world. Have morning tea/coffee in Strollers café on site.

12.15pm - Depart the Dock Museum.

12.40pm - Arrive at Gleaston Water Mill. Have lunch at Dusty Miller’s tea shop, where you’ll find home made country cooking at its best. After lunch tour the mill and visitors can watch the timbered water wheel, and the massive wooden gears of the mill in action. The site is also home to Furness Beekeeper’s apiary and Pig’s Whisper gift shop, for all things piggy.

2.00pm - Depart Gleaston Water Mill

2.20pm - Arrive at South Lakes Animal Park. The north’s leading zoo park in a unique safari on foot with many animals wandering free in natural surroundings. Daily tiger feeding is at 2.30pm and at 3pm all other animals are fed.
