Coniston
This historic slate and copper mining village is a wonderful
centre for walking on Coniston Old Man and the fells surrounding
peaceful Coniston Water.

steam yacht Gondola. Memories of Donald Campbell and the water
speed record are never far away, notably amongst the magnificent
local history collections at the
Ruskin Museum. And make sure you

Brantwood, the
beautiful home of John Ruskin on the eastern shore of the
lake.
