Broughton-in-Furness
This is the ideal, tranquil base for exploring the coast, the
Duddon Valley, and the nearby hills, including the little known
Dunnerdale Fells.
Broughton-in-Furness is a pretty village with a cobbled market
square, modelled on a

London square of the 18th century, which is enclosed by
shops, pubs and homes, many of them Georgian in origin.
You will still find the village stocks and fish slabs here.
The traditional pubs, shops and Georgian houses make Broughton
truly a hidden gem. The beauty of the Duddon Valley has been
immortalised in the writings of William Wordsworth and Norman
Nicholson.
