Boat Moorings

We have 1054 swinging mooring sites on the lake, these are offered on an annual licence.
 
There are also a small number of holiday moorings available which can be hired on a nightly basis at....
 
  • Belle Isle - 7 moorings
  • Parsonage Bay - 10 moorings
  • Waterhead - 2 moorings
  • Fell Foot - 1 mooring
The maximum overall length of boat allowed on a mooring is 11 metres.

Encroachments

The bed of the Lake is owned by SLDC. All requests for new structures, alterations to existing encroachments or any dredging works must go to the National Park Authority for planning permission. Approval for works within a watercourse must go before the Environment Agency and South Lakeland District Council for approval before any works commence.
